Anamaria Nevares

Currently, I oversee the daily operations and coordination for the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services & Technology (FAAST), South Florida Regional Demonstration Center (SFRDC). I provide onsite demonstration of different types of assistive technology (AT) and educate individuals and professionals on how these devices can support education, employment and/or daily life. In addition, I assist the Interdisciplinary Developmental Evaluation Services (IDES) team at the University of Miami Mailman Center for Child Development, as their coordinator and education/AT specialist. The IDES team brings together experts from a variety of fields to work with families to evaluate, diagnose, and formulate a comprehensive treatment plan for children with complex needs.

Prior to working at the Mailman Center, I had over six years of teaching experience in the public school system as a former special education teacher.
